Aert-Fil was the fusion of the family name Aertgeerts with the word fil (wire)!
Working with wire is at the heart of our craft. A turning point, an evolution, a need to broaden our range in order to move forward. Our harvest basket remains our iconic product. Our collection is growing, now branching into garden decor!
And soon... wirework crafted just like in the 19th century — without soldering!
Would you like a more poetic or more formal version?
L'Atelier Aertgeerts... a tradition of expertise spanning three generations!
Heir to a traditional know-how in wire weaving since 1923, our artisanal company is now based in Brittany, in Martigné-Ferchaud.
For 100 years, we have specialized in the handcrafted production of wire mesh harvest baskets.
The woven iron basket was once used for all kinds of harvesting—especially for apple picking for cider in Normandy. This vintage basket is still made in France today, in our workshop. The workshop is open! Come visit us (by appointment). If you’d like to visit, feel free to call ahead to check if we’re available!
